Busy Times at Seasons by Atlantica!

Chef Clavel and the Dream Team

We are so thrilled to provide you with an update on the Seasons by Atlantica journey and how incredibly awesome things have been going here! We are in full swing with the Canada Games in town and it has been absolutely non-stop for our staff and managerment, not to mention the Games mission staff, media and other related personnel, who have been a delight to have around us every day!

The Games aside, there has been a lot going on at Seaons by Atlantica to talk about. As you may or may not know we became a Taste of Nova Scotia member shortly before the re-launch, and that has been such a great designation to have. As well we were invited to be members of the Chaine de Rotisseurs, a gastronomical association, which we will be inducted into during a ceremony in Montreal this coming October.

Executive Chef Luis Clavel

Another thing to brag about is our Executive Chef Luis Clavel’s nomination for Chef of Year Award (again) with the Chefs Association here in Nova Scotia. We cannot begin to describe how proud we are of Chef Clavel and how happy we are to have him here in the kitchen at Seasons! Luis is great both in and out of the kitchen; our clients know and love him because of his efforts to come out and introduce himself during events, really taking the time to make sure our guests and clients are happy with food and beverage services.

During the grand re-launch event both myself and Chef Clavel were lucky enough to meet Heather Chase, from the food blog The Culinary Chase. She was so impressed with the event and the food (check that out in her blog post here) that she had Chef create a special degustation of unique Asian flavours for which she came back with friends for the following Saturday evening. Just another example of how we can go above and beyond for our clients!

Another individual who was recently impressed with his visit to Seasons was the Bourgeois Gourmet himself, Mr. Bill Spurr, who reviewed us in his column in the Chronicle Herald just last week. We were happy with his commentary and his overall impression. Come back soon Bill!

We are Lookin' Good

Other recent events have included a phenomenal Saturday night (just this past weekend) concert featuring Jeri Brown, who was covering Nina Simone tunes. We had a terrific turnout and our customers were blown away by Jeri’s soulful covers of a jazz legend. Speaking of jazz, we still have the cool Mike Cowie and the Waterbabies every Thursday night in the lounge with their famous jazz performances. Make it a point to stop by soon and indulge in one of our unique drink specials while taking in some music.

Now looking forward; we are excited to be participating in the Chefs for Unicef event next month. We have recieved our country for this awesome culinary and fundraising event, and it looks like we’ll be doing Jamaica. Can’t wait to see what Chef Clavel is going to dream up to represent this country’s cuisine.

Check back for the next post where I’ll update you on what we’ve been up to, including Chefs for Unicef and Savour.

Cheers!
